About a week ago, my computer was fine and I couldn't see anything wrong with it. One day, when I opened my computer, it took a long time to start up, and once I signed in, all of my apps were running slowly and have been ever since. I am also unable to adjust my brightness, it is stuck at full. I have tried many things, like restarting the system several times, running virus scans, resetting my graphics card, anything I could find, but nothing has changed. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, Carlo TJ. I tried a virus scan with Malwarebytes, and it told me I have no viruses. I also did a clean boot, but the issue is still happening. By the way, before the issue started, I typically had more background apps open than I do now, so I don't think the usage of memory by apps if affecting my computer.

Thank you for your help, and have a great day.

    Good Day Arya_Babul,

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, it appears that Brave and some third-party apps taking most of the usage.

You can try to scan your computer using the free version of Malwarebytes scanner to check if there are malware or adwares running in your system.

    Here's the link to download.

    https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/thank...

Once downloaded and installed open the app and perform a scan and check for infection.

Once the scan is done restart your computer using cleanboot.

    Restart and observe the performance.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

Screenshot of task manager with fewer details:

Screenshot of task manager with more details (Brave and ShareX are the only apps I normally have open, and my only starting apps. I think all the other processes are system processes, but I can screenshot them all if you want):
