Err_proxy connection failed

Hello, I receive this error even though the internet is working on my mobile/tablet. I tried many things but nothing fixed it from a long-term standpoint :( The short-term solution for me is uninstalling all the drivers or using CMD commands to restart the settings, after which the internet works for several hours and then the issue gets back.

What I have already tried:

  • Running troubleshooter (Nothing found)
  • Updating internet driver for my type of computer ( Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. / System model: UX410UAR)
  • Uninstalling all the network drivers that Windows re-installed upon restarting the computer
  • Resetting the network settings (Although the same problem occurred on different networks and routers)
  • Trying different website browsers than my default Google Chrome
  • Changing DNS Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP /IPv4) to 8.8.8.8 v Preferred DNS and 8.8.4.4 in Alternative DNS
  • Running these commands in CMD: netsh int ip reset ; netsh advfirewall reset ; netsh winsock reset ; ipconfig /flushdns ; ipconfig /release ; ipconfig /renew ; netsh winhttp reset proxy
  • Running repair install on my Windows 11

I will gladly welcome any suggestions on what else I could try that would work long-term. Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi ValeriánLukačkko.

    I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Is this problem occurring in a specific browser or in all browsers?

    Check proxy settings:

    1. Press "Windows + R", type "inetcpl.cpl", and click Ok.
    2. Select the "Connections" tab and click on "LAN Settings";
    3. Uncheck "Automatically detect settings";
    4. Also, uncheck the option "Use a proxy server for your LAN..." if checked;
    5. Click OK in both windows.
    6. Close and open your browser.

    Let me know if the setting in step 4 was enabled. Due to the procedures you have already done, this option should be disabled.

    Feel free to ask back any questions.

    Thanks David!

    Both options were already unchecked. And it is happening in all browsers I tried (Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera)

    Do you have any VPN clients installed?

    If yes, uninstall, restart your PC and see if the issue is resolved.

    This can also be caused by malware.

    I suggest you do a full scan using Microsoft Safety Scanner. Download from the link below.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/securi...

    Also, do a full scan using Malwarebytes as a second opinion.

    Download through this link: https://malwarebytes.com/

    IMPORTANT: When installing, a 14-day trial will be activated. I suggest disabling this trial to avoid conflict with your current antivirus. Access the Malwarebytes settings (gear icon at the top of the window), tab "Account" and click "Disable".

    After scanning, you can uninstall it.

    Malwarebytes alone may not be able to detect if it is Adware, so use AdwCleaner as well. It is very effective removing this type of infection in browsers.

    Download through this link: https://malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

    IMPORTANT: AdwCleaner detects pre-installed software and allows you to remove all of its features to improve Windows performance. It may be software that you need. So ignore this option or uncheck the software in the list provided after scanning.
