Router's SSID Not Showing Up

Windows 10 available networks does not show the router that is 10' away on my ASUS ROG G751JT. Shows up on my phones, tablets and various other computers. I booted to Ubuntu and it shows fine on the ROG. The SSID was used on a prior router so I deleted the saved network SSID with the previous router, rebooted and the current SSID still does not show up.

Ideas?

Thanks!

    Thanks for everyone's help.

I noticed that the list of available SSIDs on my Windows configuration was shorter than on my phone. When I boot to Linux all the SSIDs show up that I see on the phone. That made me pretty sure that it's not a router issue but seemed to be a driver issue for the network adapter in Windows.

I opened Device Manager and removed the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-7260 adapter. I responded to delete driver software. I scanned for new hardware and the WiFi adapter showed back up and installed a 2015 version of the driver. SSIDs populated with a complete list including my missing SSID for my router. Back in business and blazing along at 5ghz connected speeds.

Weird the newer drivers don't work and find the SSID. In any case, fixed! Apparently, not all the time newer drivers are better drivers ;-)

Thanks for your help. I was able to do that with a different computer connected to the router as my wired port isn't working on my laptop. It did not cure the problem. My ASUS ROG G751JT with Intel Dual Band AC 7260 didn't see the SSID being broadcast by the ASUS CMAX60000 router / modem.

    Hi kernrsn ,

connected to the router via network cable, go to the Wireless Settings page and temporarily change the SSID and WiFi password. Save your changes and restart the router. Disconnect the network cable from the router and from the PC, then check if it detects the new SSID and if you can connect and access the internet.

Specify the exact model of your wireless network card.

No luck. I followed through Methods 1-4 in their entirety in your reply.

In Method 3 the following commands had errors:

    netsh int 6to4 reset all

The following command was not found: netsh int 6to4 reset all

    netsh int isatap reset all

The following command was not found: int isatap reset all.

    netsh int teredo reset all

The following command was not found: int teredo reset all.

I copied the commands from Method 3 and pasted them into the administrator's command prompt.

I still don't see the SSID of the WiFi from the router I'm trying to connect to on my laptop. I find the SSID and connect with all other devices attempted. This laptop finds and connects when booted into Ubuntu.

    I'm stumped.

I do have connectivity as I am able to connect to an Xfinity hotspot somewhere else within range so I have internet access.

    Thanks!

    Ron
