Lumia 640 LTE !

I have had my Lumia 640 LTE mobile phone for quite awhile now I have been into settings and I see that I am on Windows 8.1. It does not seem to allow me to update to "10" ! Another concern is the fact Internet Explorer could soon be finishing so unsure what I should do ! I went into my mobile phone shop a few years ago to buy a new phone. They told me that they could not transfer all my contacts over to a new phone ! Even though I had purchased this phone from them they no longer sold Microsoft phones ! At the time I did not relish putting "all" my contacts and details into a new phone ! I decided to stay with the one I had and walked out the shop ! I guess the question now is how long have I got with this phone ?

Any advice would be welcome !

    Hi 93tid, thanks for all the info much appreciated. Considering the age of the phone I think it's time for a change ! Although I am a big Microsoft fan I can't see me getting another Microsoft mobile !

    Not sure what you mean by Windows Phone 8.1 is removed. If you mean that it is not supported, then you should still be able to text and call.

    Hi again, unsure if this link is still open or not ! Just a thought, if the Internet browser and Windows 8.1 is removed will I still be able to text and use the phone etc ?

    Hi 93tid, thanks for that ! It took some digesting but I guess it's time to bite the bullet and buy a new one ! I actually do just the opposite on my laptop, always looking for updates and trying to keep it trouble free ! I guess it was a shock today when I realized my mobile was on Windows 8.1 !!
