Windows 10 with HP Jetdirect170x and HP Laserjet 2100 (is it even possible to get this combination working)

For my work (I work from fhome) I have a windows 10 machine and can't find any solution or driver to print from this machine via an HP jetdirect170x printerserver to a HPlaserjet2100

All is working; In my homenetwork I have a working windows 7 machine from which i can print... (yes; all very old but working & reliable)

P.S.

I am considering to buy a replacement for my old windows 7 machine (something with security issues).....does that implies the printer & printerserver is ready for the scrapyard?

All the Hp Support site options doen'st work :-(

P.P.S. With an IP-scanner tool I can detect the Jetdirect 170x's IP adress...

    First of all thank you for your response !

    In my case the IP is 192.168.2.33 I got this from the jet direct via the lasetjet printet when i pressed the "test" button on the jet direct:-)

    to answer your question: No i did not get any acces to the ip addres..

    looking at the detailed information: see below (sorry it is is dutch.....)

    Is was looking from time to time for a solution but now I can finally close this topic/quest..

    I will return my old printer and printer server to the appropriatie disposal.

    Hi User. I'm Greg, ten times awarded Windows MVP, here to help you fix this.

    Yes, to answer your question, the print server is much too old with last support from Vista which is from the XP era which almost nothing works any longer with modern hardware or from Windows 10 and 11. Even Windows 7 is getting too old to be reliable any longer.

    As to the printer, you can plug it in via USB to see if there is any response from Windows 10 as there's a chance it might have a compatible driver.

    If not there are dependable all-in-one wireless printer/scanner/copier/fax machines that are easy to configure from any device in the house for around $100 on Amazon.

    Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the answers you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

    Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

    If you open the file explorer and type \192.168.0.1 and press enter (replacing this with the correct IP address for the JetDirect) does this give any view of the available printers?
