Laptop Screen Calibration

I'm not sure if calibration of my laptop screen is necessary, but when I try to do it for external printing services like Shutterfly and Printique, I get a message that I'm not certain how to handle. After selecting "Calibrate Display" and "Next", it pops up with: "This display currently uses wide-gamut color profile. The display color calibration will create a color profile with a conventional gamut, which may be a poor fit for this display, and result in distorted color appearance. Do you want to continue anyway?"

Both services are sRGB and don't offer downloadable ICC profiles. I'm on a Thinkpad X1 Gen 9 running Windows Home 10

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes you will be compromising that. There will be a loss in saturation of the viewed content.

    Hello Jaspreet,

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it. I'm not an expert on this subject, but wonder if I'll be comprising the benefits of a wide-gamut display, if I calibrate the display to sRGB (which will match my printers profile).

    Hello MichaelMaitre1,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

The need for color calibration will depend on your workflow.

If you are editing images that requires a level of color precision you will need to calibrate your monitor accordingly and in such a case you will need to click "continue anyway" on that message. This will change the appearance of the display but will reflect true colors according to the profile you have now selected.
