Hello, I am suffering too much when I want to insert a file in the program files or the system folder. It says I don't have the permission.

I tried all what I found on interent to fix this but all methods are related to windows 10 and didn't work.
I can't change the owner of the file and can't make full access in the local drive disk.

What should I do to freely add files in the system?

Hi Majdi Al-Amili,

First of all, is this software installed by you or by another user? If you installed it, you theoretically have sufficient access rights.

As you described in your original post, you wanted to change the owner of the file, but failed. Now I suggest you try changing the permissions on that folder. Right-click the folder > Properties > Security tab > Edit, then click your username, then check "Allow" to the right of "Full control" in Permission for Users, then press Enter to confirm, if there is any prompt, you can be ignored first.

It is then recommended that you try your copying operation while exiting the security software and exiting the game. Or you can try reinstalling/overinstalling the app.

Is it possible to do a copy operation in another directory in C:\Program Files (x86)? I suggest you try it.

Or you can try the copy operation in safe mode. Because Safe Mode enables a minimum number of additional services or apps to rule out issues caused by personalized settings and third-party apps. You can click Start your PC in safe mode in Windows (microsoft.com) to view the specific operation steps.

    Thank you Mosken,

Yes I am the administrator of the PC as shown in the picture you shared.

To be specific, my current usage scenario is that I have a game in the program file. I downloaded save files from interent to add it to my game. I tried to copy these .ini files to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Far Cry 4\bin\save3dmgames, but the windows showed no permission (see the attached photo please). By the way, copying these files to that directory also has the same problem as extracting them.

What is the solution for this ? and does the antivirus has any relation to this problem?

    Thank you.

    Hi Majdi Al-Amili,

Welcome to post in Microsoft Community. I'm Mosken, let me help you figure it out.

According to your description, I knew that you cannot modify files in Windows 11 because you are prompted that you do not have permission. If my understanding is wrong, please correct me in the reply.

Are you the administrator of this system? You can try to confirm your administrator status by following the steps below. Open the control panel path as shown in the figure below, and then check whether there is the word Administrator under your account name.

Then what is your usage scenario? Are you unable to modify your files anywhere or in some specific directory? Because for security reasons, some files related to the core of the system are strictly protected, and modifying it requires sufficient permissions or even cannot be modified. So please describe your usage scenario in your next reply, so as to solve the problem faster and better.

Then if you have confirmed that you are an administrator, you can try to create a new administrator account, switch the login, and see if you have the relevant permissions. You can visit **** Create a local user or administrator account in Windows (microsoft.com) **** for more details.

If the above solutions don't work, I suggest you go into Safe mode to see if it's the system itself problem. Because Safe Mode enables a minimum number of additional services or apps to rule out issues caused by personalized settings and third-party apps. You can click Start your PC in safe mode in Windows (microsoft.com) to view the specific operation steps.

The above steps are provided based on the information I have learned so far, I wish that will be helpful to you. If your problem still cannot be solved by these steps, you could tell me the specific situation in the next reply. I will continue to assist you in solving the problem.

    Best Regards,
