Hello,

Today I lauched a Forza Horizon for the first time in a while and it crashed after just passing the initial start screen before loading into the game.

After closing the game I attempted again to lauch, same issue although thistime my google chrome crashed with it. I decided to restart my PC and try again one last time, but after opening i was prompted with a message saying i didnt have the reccomended amount of minimum Ram so i didnt continue. I'd played this game a lot before so i opened System Information and noticed I only have a total amount of 2.0gb total physical memory. Above that it says I have 16.0gb installed physcial memory (RAM).

So my PC is very slow. Something also odd is that my pc is only using 1% - 4% of my GPU at all times, maybe intergrated graphics? idk

OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home

System Type x64-based PC

Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor, 3701 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)

Adapter Description NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

Example of System Info:

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB

Total Physical Memory 2.00 GB

Available Physical Memory 30.4 MB

Total Virtual Memory 4.96 GB

Available Virtual Memory 829 MB

Page File Space 2.96 GB

Things Ive done to try fix.

  • A full bios update
  • System config, Boot, advanced options, maximum memory size
  • Gpu Driver update
  • Swapping the Ram sticks with each other in anttempt for my PC to remap them

    Dear Max_Mello,please right click on the start menu and go to System;

    Submit a screenshot of Windows Specifications;

    Go to Gigabyte's website and update the motherboard's Bios:

    https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/X570-GA...

    If you have questions about how to update the BIOS, watch the video below:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpxfChQi_gw

    Note: it's a simple process but if the power goes out during the update it can make the motherboard unusable;

    Hope it helps, see you soon!

    Dear Max_Mello,what exactly is the model and manufacturer of your motherboard?

    Initially I recommend that you try to reset the Bios settings;

    Access the PC's Bios;
    Press the F9 key to load the Bios default settings;
    Press F10 key to save and exit;

    Check if the 16GB of ram is recognized by Windows;

    Hope this helps, see you soon!

    I have the gigabyte x570 Gaming X (1.0)

    Resetting the bios to default didn’t work unfortunately

    Windows recognises the full 16gb (Installed Physical Memory (RAM)) in the system information app and directly under that it say 2gb (Total Physical Memory)

    Hello Max_Mello, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

    I understand that the total amount of memory is not being recognized by Windows;

    Is your computer a laptop?
    If so, what exactly is the model and manufacturer?

    Initially I recommend that you try the following;

    Press Windows key and type: msconfig hit enter;
    Click System Startup and then Advanced Options;
    Uncheck the option "Maximum memory" and click OK;

    Do a clean boot;

    Press together the keys: Ctrl + Shift + Esc to access the task manager;
    Click on start and disable all programs that start with Windows;

    Run the system file checker;

    Run the Windows repair tools:

    Press the Windows + X keys, select Command Prompt (Admin), copy and paste the commands below and press enter after each command.

    Sfc /ScanNow

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

    Wait for the process to finish and restart the pc;

    Check if the problem is fixed;

    I hope I helped, even more!

    Thanks for your reply,

    im on a desktop computer

    Files were fine and maintenace fine too

    The Sfc Scan gave a result of

    "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

    The Health restore gave a result of

    "The restore operation completed successfully.

    The operation completed successfully."

    Still have the problem.

    Just to confirm, my PC knows it has 16gb of ram physically plugged in but only 2gb are available
