Keep getting the Windows Update Error 0x80d05001

When trying to download updates connected to our companies main internet, the update fails in the download stage and it gives me this error: 0x80d05001. When I connect the computer to a different network, a backup line I got installed in case our main goes down, the updates download and install just fine. This issue persists on any Windows OS. It also doesn't matter when we got the computer. It will happen to ones taken out of the box today. I tried to find any local group policies on our local server, but there either isn't one there or I am not looking in the right place.

    Hey Kevin,

Our ISP got back with me, and they said they don't block any ports on their circuits unless it is a BVOIP circuit.

Thank you for the info. I will have to talk to AT&T as they are our ISP and they handle some of our Cybersecurity through Zscaler to see if they have any restrictions in place. I will make sure to update this when I hear back from them.

    Hi Porter -

I'm Kevin B., I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

Does the company internet have its own policy? When you connected to a different network, is the network connected with the same company internet or just a personal network?

If the update downloads and install using a different network other than the company, then it might be a restriction applied on the company network which blocks the download and installation of updates on your windows computer.

To ensure that the issue is not with the windows updates on your computer, you can run the Update troubleshooter to identify the issue.

    Windows Update Troubleshooter

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win...

Check if the tool detects the issue with the updates and check if its able to fix it.

Hope this will help and have a bless day!

    Thanks.
