System Device. No drivers are installed for this device

I have a Lenovo V330 and for the past several months I am having problems at starup (before Windows Start)

I have searched a number of sites and installed some utilities to diagnose hardware drivers. At this tine I am focusing on the System Device: Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O Thermal subsystem - 9D31, suspecting it is a thermal anomaly, that shows "No drivers are installed for this device" however there are details for the driver. Provider: INTEL Driver date: 1968-07-18 Driver Version 10.1.5.2 Digital Signature Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

In W10 21H2 version

Checked: Windows Update is OK not requiring any update

Run SFC: OK

Run Intel Drivers Update: OK

Run CCLEANER utility: Shows a new driver is available but not found in Intel Site

Run AVAST Driver Updater: Shows a new driver is available but not found in Intel Site

Run Outbyte Drivers Updater. Shows a new driver is available but not found in Intel Site

All utilities point to a different driver. It is annoying to see that neither Lenovo nor Intel can answer the problem.

Can you please help me in understanding the issue? Thank you in advance

Hi Paul. Thank you for your attention.

    I have no error messages.

The "Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O Thermal subsystem - 9D31" has no error (question mark, yellow, red). However in the status says: "No drivers are installed for this device. "

The problem I am having is, I believe, related with power on sequence. The following is randomly observed.

Power on sequence some times get stuck in the BIOS Phase in the Pre Boot Windows (blank screen) sometimes get stuck in the Boot Loader phase Windows Boot Manager (blank screen) and finally some times reaches the OS Kernel but does not reach the Win Logon and finally in some cases it completes the startup process. All this is random. I have tried from the battery reset button. I have tried leaving the PC off from power for 20 or more seconds and I may succeed. Sometines it does not. Sometimes I have tried starting up with BIOS Setup (F2) and if I exited just a few seconds after, it fails. Sometimes I wait for a minute or so and the Kernel phase passess ok.

I think it all points to a hardware driver but none of the health check tools signals an error. Next thing I will try is to run some SSD Utility since the OS is loaded from an SSD.

Also the RESTART function fails as well. Sometimes the SLEEP function ends in the Blue screen.

    Kind regards

    Hi AlejandroPerez,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Can you elaborate on the Startup problem?

Do you see any error messages?

Does the "Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O Thermal subsystem - 9D31" have an exclamation point or error code in the Device Manager?

    Thanks.
