Strange display problems on secondary monitor.

Hi, I'm currently running on dual displays with Windows 11, lately, I've been realizing this strange display issue with my secondary monitor. Both the displays are identical, but somehow the secondary display seems it misses lines of pixels. For example, when I try to read some texts from that display, it's very easy for me to see that the texts have their top bits chopped off, which makes them kind of blurry and hard to read. However, when I move the window to the primary one the text is all sharp and smooth again. Please help me out as it is getting a little annoying for me. Thanks.

Do both displays use the same type of connection? I used to have two monitors but one used DVI and one DisplayPort (or maybe it was HDMI, it's been a while) and something a lot like this drove me nuts.

Another random thought, try perhaps running the ClearType tuner and see if it can help, I am pretty sure this tool lets you set different adjustments for each display separately.

I just tried to apply the changes and did a full restart on my desktop, and I was still having the same issue. For this desktop, I bought the displays both the same, it's just one is about two years older than the other. Although this issue is not too problematic, it's just noticeable, it's subtle enough that when I tried to take pictures of the displays on my phone I couldn't even tell a significant difference between them.

The attached pictures are the display effects on different displays, the first one is the one with problems, the other is the proper working one.

You might try setting the external display as Primary/Main display, then log off/on again and check how it looks. Some scaling settings are only set based on the main display and only during login, so this can help narrow down the issue. Can't hurt anything to try. I actually keep my external monitor as main all the time because that's where I want my primary taskbar tray icons and notifications to show up.

Highlight the external display, set the "make this my main display" checkbox on, then log out and back in (full restart is not necessary).

Thanks for replying, I've checked the display settings for the secondary monitor, both the display resolution and scale are in recommended settings. I've heard that this could be a hardware issue, and I've had this monitor for about 4 years, I hope that's not the case.

Can you check that Windows is set to use the recommended native resolution of the secondary display?

Open Settings, go to System then Display, click on the external display at the top to highlight it, then scroll down and make certain the resolution is set to the "recommended" option.
