Did you do a clean install using the installation media and formatting the system drive, or did you reset your PC and choose to remove everything?
Mouse lag after unwanted "driver updates"
Hi,
Long story short, I used a program that I shouldn't have to update drivers. It's not malware, but it's clearly garbage and I've since uninstalled it. The program is PC Helpsoft and when it updated drivers I immediately noticed issues, one of which being what appears to be mouse lag. Another issue is the device manager will FREEZE if I attempt to disable or uninstall any drivers. When I attempt to restart or shutdown my PC it will hang forever if I've tried to disable/uninstall a driver, which means I have to force a shutdown.
When I attempt to update any driver, windows simply says they are "up-to-date". I have tried updating my graphics card and it reported failures. I noticed when I ran the program it installed some HD Audio thing. I've tried disabling this and the other HD audio driver to no avail. Ideally, I need a way to completely re-install all drivers without having to reset the entire PC or some other way to identify what the underlying problem is. It also "updated" a bunch of PCI drivers, supposedly. I cannot restore to an earlier point.
EDIT: This is also causing audio issues. Similar "suttering" as with the mouse. I'm thinking it wasn't just the mouse that got messed up, but also the audio. Also, the issues persist regardless of what device I use. I have tried replacing the mouse with no effect on the issue.

2022-05-04T13:38:34+00:00 Hi,
I don't have any points available.
It updated a few things. A bunch of things related to PCI, some sound stuff, and something related to sound I believe. I believe the issue may be stemming from an update to graphics drivers, but I can't confirm. I'm also having audio stuttering issues alongside this mouse thing.
When I updated my graphics drivers, it installed the graphics drivers successfully, but noted 2 failed installations which I can't recall and I can't re-update the drivers.

2022-05-04T13:29:31+00:00 Hi Edward.
I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.
I suggest that you do not use third-party software to update drivers. These types of software often do more harm than they help.
Always update the drivers through Windows or download them directly from the manufacturer's website.
Why can't you restore the computer using a point created prior to using the software? You don't have any points available, or is there an error?
Do you know what drivers the software updated?
