Hello, my DELL laptop is beeping in a sequence of 5 beeps, it's not stopping, please help me, I tried solving it by holding the power button for 15 sec while there was no power getting to my laptop(ac adapter and battery removed) but it didn't work please if anyone knows the solution I would be grateful if you could help me.

additional information : I don't know if it's related but before it started beeping i used the command "netsh int ip reset" and got back the message "Access Denied" and it wanted me to restart my computer and when I did so it started beeping very loud on startup and quietly when on windows.

    Hi Johnny_432

    Thank you for that information,

Dell do indicate the 5 beeps on that laptop indicate the CMOS battery needs to be replaced, and seeing as that is a 2015 model, the battery is 7 years old which is about the expected lifespan of a CMSO Battery.

Seeing as the beeping has stopped, wait for a day or two to see if the beeping starts again, and keep an eye on the time in Windows when you start up the laptop, if that is not correct, or the beeping returns, then you will need to replace that CMOS battery on the motherboard.

    Hi Johnny_432

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Different Dell laptops have different Beep Codes, but usually 5 beeps indicates the CMOS battery (not the main battery) on the motherboard (looks like a watch battery) needs to be replaced.

You can replace that yourself if you feel comfortable taking off the bottom cover on the laptop, and your can purchase a new battery in most hardware or PC repair shops.

I can check to be sure it is that battery, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

    Hi Johnny_432

No there is no link with that command, it just resets the TCPIP.

I will know more when you can provide that screenshot, I will be here.

Thanks Dave for replying! Right now I am not home but when i get back I'll provide you with the screenshot, so there's no link with the command "netsh int ip reset"?
