Alt short commands not working for special characters?

Hey, so I have this weird thing going on with my keyboard. Suddenly can't type special characters like for example ~, without having to use the numpad number for it, like normally I just press a "normal button" on my keyboard next to the Enter Key. The Ä button on a scandinavian keyboard. But it just won't type anything. Can't use it for any other characters either.

What could this be?

    Hi Antoneckkk

On your keyboard, there should be two Alt keys, the one on the left is the standard Alt key, the one on the right, is Alt GR and when you press that key, that simulates pressing the Ctrl + Alt keys together.

If pressing the Alt GR key with another key does not work for you, try pressing Shift + Caps Lock + Alt GR to see if that gets that key working correctly.

if you press Ctrl + the left Alt key + that key, does that produce the correct character?

    2

If not, in the Settings App, go to Time and Language - Language, please check that th correct keyboard layout for your physical keyboard is set correctly.

Hey and thanks for the fast reply.

Number 1 solution worked, it does the work for me. Did I change any setting or this is intended to be?

    Thanks :)
