Windows 11 will not cast to my 50" ONN. Roku TV.

I have 2 laptops and 1 desktop running Windows 11. None of them can cast to my ONN. Roku TV. I have tried that disable firewall solution to not avail. The only firewall I have running is Windows Defender and it is set to always allow displays. I have even tried turning Defender off to no avail. Windows 11 sees all my other SMART TVs, but not this one. It even sees my Roku stick in the den. All my Android Devices have no issue casting to the ONN. Roku.

When I first got the TV, Windows 11 was able to cast to it, but lost the connection identifier when I turned it off, and I would have to reboot the computer to re-establish. Now...nothing.

Everything is on the same router and the TV is visible when I look at connected devices in Windows 11 Networking. Router reboot also has not worked

I threw a Hail Mary pass and tried something different. I realized I had changed my ISP in November from AT&T to XFINITY and I use that as the primary router for my home. I do have a small additional wireless router that I allow guests to log onto. I set the additional router up because I had experienced people projecting things to my SMART TV that I nor the general public really wanted to see in 4K.

Today I changed the wifi access for my laptop and the ONN. Roku TV from my XFINITY router to my generic sub router. Everything popped up immediately. I was able to mirror my Window 11 Laptop with no issue. When I changed them both back to the XFINITY router, Nothing there. I really don't want my laptop or TV on the wifi that all my relatives use when they come over, but changing over when I'm alone and need to is not that big of a deal and better than running that super long HDMI cable across the room.

I still do not understand why the ONN. TV is the only device not visible to Windows 11. All of my Android devices are linked to the XFINITY router and they cast to the ONN. fine. Windows 11 sees all the other devices (including ROKU Stick and the TVs with no issue.

I guess my problem was one of those unique things that had more to do with some kind of incompatability between different device makers and not a Windows problem at all.

Next I'm going to move everything downstairs near my XFINITY router and see if the problem would exist if both were direct wired. Just curious.

    Thank you for the help

    HI again -

If you have tried everything I've provided and none of those steps worked then everything possible for Windows has been done.

What I would do next in your situation is contact ONN Support here:

    https://onntvsupport.com/roku-tv

If within a year of purchase of the ONN Roku then it is still under warranty and they must get it working or repair or replace it. If not I would engage their forums or extend the warranty to get it fixed. Go here:

    https://onntvsupport.com/roku-tv

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

I have had this issue for a while and have previously read and tried all those articles. I never had a firewall other than Windows Defender, and I even tried disabling that to no avail. My Roku is up to date and so is my Windows Operating system.

Windows connected to all other devices EXCEPT that ONN. Roku. All other devices connected to the ONN. Roku EXCEPT my Windows computers. These were all on my XFINITY wifi. When I switched my computer and TV wifi connection to my generic router, I am now able to cast with no issues. Seems the combo of Windows, XFINITY and ONN. is the issue. ONN., XFINITY and Android get along fine. ONN., AT&T and Windows also worked together seemlessly.

BTW, XFINITY is my ISP. My solution was to disconnect from the wifi of the XFINITY router, and use the wifi signal of the bargain basement generic router. Which actually gets it's internet via LAN cable from the XFINITY router. Go figure.

Did you try all the fixes I gave. Usually when none are mentioned it means they weren't even tried. But if you are happy with the workaround you came up with then maybe it's not worth the time involved to fix it. If you change your mind then you have the fixes that should work.

Let me know if I can help further. I'll stay subscribed to this thread in case you need anything else, until the system locks it in a few months.
