Default keyboard backlight setting

I have a Huawei Matebook 14D with Windows 11 home.

The backlight setting via the F3 button has three grades when you press it, 1 - off, 2 -light on, 3 - light on(slightly stronger). I would have expected that if I set it to the 3rd one and then restart the laptop, the selected option will remain. I.e. when you start typing after a restart, you don't need to press F3 to enable backlight.

It seems like it is always off by default. Is there a way to configure this? I had a look in my BIOS settings and Huawei custom settings app, but nothing's there.

Hi, I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

I know how frustrating this may be for you but I'll do my very best to help you.

You should be able to set the keyboard backlight to never turn off in the Accessibility (or System) on the Huawei PC manager. You can see more information at these links.

If changing this setting doesn't fix the problem, you may need to contact Huawei support, they should be able to inform your this behavior is normal or you can change it.
