Windows Clipboard (Windowns Key + V) Not Showing Up

Anonymous

Problem: When I press the Windows key + V, the Clipboard history menu does not show up.

Windows Info: Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2 Build 19044.1706

Details:

  • The Clipboard menu worked fine a week ago.
  • Just copying and pasting using Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V still works.

Things I've Tried Already:

  1. Enabling "Clipboard History" in Clipboard settings
  2. Turning on "Sync Across Devices" in Clipboard settings
  3. Clearing clipboard data from Clipboard settings
  4. Changing regedit values
  5. Changing group policy values
  6. Running sfc /scannow
  7. Running DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
  8. Restarting File Explorer from Task Manager

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

    1. Go over Windows using this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account to replace yours which may be corrupted. Then if necessary continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    1. If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version, and solves most problems. Did you still need help? I am standing by here waiting for results of the steps I gave you to continue troubleshooting your issue.

This is an interactive process. I give steps to perform, you do each one and then report back results until something works, so I know what to suggest next. If you need help performing any step, just ask back. But please do not skip any steps. We often find out the skipped step is the fix.

I'm sorry if the steps didn't work. It seems that the issue is complex than what I expected.

It may be best if I release your question to other advisors so they can take a look at it and let them share some other ways that can fix the issue.

You take care and keep safe always.

    Sincerely,

    Louie
