The 30 minutes is not a typo. After several attempts I installed one last time and unplugged, shut down for more than 30 minutes and it did the trick. I was able to connect to bring up a list of available networks and log into my home network with password.

FYI - the waiting 30 (I waited 40) minutes, surprisingly, did the trick. I had repeatedly uninstalled the device previously, both with and without re-starting the laptop.

    "Wait 30 minutes?" I hope that's a typo.

We have a bunch of laptops experiencing this for about the past 2 weeks or so.
