No connecting sound when I plug in my conroller

I just got my controller to play games on my new PC but when i plug it in with the usb cable, it doesn't register that it is in fact connected but it also doesn't play the classic sound when a usb is connected. I don't know why this is happening as every other usb i plug in works normally. Is it a possibility that it has to do with the cable because its not the one that my dualshock 4 came with but when i use it to charge the controller t works normally. I tried to use DS4 for Windows because my motherboard doesn't support Bluetooth. Can somebody help me diagnose what is happening?

    Hello GeorgiosMiliopoulos,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

The usb cable might be an issue. Some usb cables have just charging capabilities especially that come bundled with third party chargers.

Try the cable that came with the controller.
