This just started today. My partner was using her PC (Windows 11) and all of a sudden, it went to default. The only thing that shows up was a white screen and the "Google" logo and search. Things like the screensaver, the shortcut icons, etc. disappeared. I went over and had to download Chrome and everything came back. Then, after she went to a website and came back to Chrome, it went to default again. I tried to fix it, but it did the same thing again. I'm getting frustrated at this problem and I don't how to solve the problem.

    Hi Arnold

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Most likely, the PC is logging into a temporary account.

Before you do anything or move any files around

Restart (not shut down) your PC 4 times, each time let your PC get to the Desktop before the next restart, this will fix this issue a lot of the time...

    Otherwise:

    Please open Windows File Explorer

    Navigate to C:\Users

Do you see two user folders that look like yours?

Open those folders and check inside Pictures, Documents... etc. and see if your files are there

    If your files are there:

Create a new user profile with Admin privileges

Log into the new user profile

Copy all your data from the old profile to the new profile (Documents Library, Pictures Library... etc.)

NOTE VERY IMPORTANT: Do Not copy your files into the Temporary profile you are currently in, when the situation is corrected, your files will be deleted with the Temporary Profile and will not be recoverable !!

Thanks, but I fix the problem and it was simple. What I had to do was uninstall Google and reinstall. When I did that, the problem was solved. Sometimes, the complex problem has a simple solution.
