Device Driver is Missing for Windows 7 Installation

Recently I tried to install Windows 7 onto a newer laptop with a bootable thumb drive. I kept getting the error code "A Required CD/DVD Drive Device Driver is Missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or flash drive, please insert it now."

    Are you connecting the USB flash drive to a USB 3 port (most likely this will have a blue plastic insert)? If so, use a USB 2 port instead (likely with a black plastic insert). If your laptop only has USB 3 ports, you'll have to slipstream the appropriate USB 3 driver into your installation ISO file because Windows 7 doesn't include USB 3 drivers in the installation media.

    As it is a newer laptop, there are two things which have to be done before you install 7 on it:

    1. Windows 7 does not come for free; it has to be bought.

    Microsoft no longer sells it and we can not recommend anywhere safe to buy it from.

    1. Your laptop manufacturer has to support Windows 7 and supply windows 7 drivers for your exact model number laptop for 7 to install and work correctly.
