Mouse cursor constantly changing to "Busy" after 2022-04 Update

Hello,

After updating a number of both Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11 Pro systems with the 2022-04 Cumulative Update for x64-based Systems, the mouse cursor constantly switches between normal and "Busy" every few seconds.

Has anyone else seen this?

If so, anyone with a fix?

Thanks,

John

Windows 10 Home 21H2. System updated three days ago with KB5012599 and KB5012117. The symptom is exactly the same.

The mouse cursor making as untochable/not interactive on desktop items, windows and menu items, every 6 seconds or so showing the system busy for a split second with a blink of the cursor (hourglass). All system elements cease to be interactive and clickable. It makes it completely impossible to work.

It is a mega-failure in the dropped system updates.

    Hello Carlo,

I've already tried all the above with no change. As previously mentioned, this only started today AFTER the update. And just an FYI...I'm the IT person for my company and have been working with PC's for decades.

    Thanks,

    John

Updated two Windows 11 Home systems last night and now both have this issue.

I don't see a process in Task Manager that shows activity at the same interval as the cursor change from "Normal" to "Working in Background" either.

Aha, here are some interesting components of the issue: I also ran a AmoryCrate update and Im on a Z590e. Probably Asus messed up here…

I had the cursor issue and rolling back the armory crate update fixed it. My MoBo is an TUF x570 (Wi-Fi)
