Windows 11 - Keyboard and Mouse only working sporadically

I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 a few months ago, and since then I'm having trouble using my keyboard and mouse, as they only work sporadically. Not like I have to reboot so they work, but after a random amount of time (a matter of seconds), no input from mouse or keyboard is recognized for a random amount of time (again, a matter of seconds). In rare cases, the last keyboard is repeated, until input is recognized again. This never happended with Windows 10 on my PC, and it's not happening on my Laptop (which still has Windows 10). What can I do about it?

I have my mouse and keyboard connected to my display, which is also connected via USB (so I can switch my inputs from my PC to my Laptop). The thing is, as soon as I run a mild background task like playing music, all of the problems are gone. It seems to happen just when Windows thinks it can idle, that it completely ignores input.

I was hoping for MS to fix this issue soon, but nothing has happened yet. Looking at the changes to Windows 11, I'd rather install Windows 10 again than looking for an alternate setup, if nothing can be done about it.

Uninstalling KB5013943 only results in Windows update FORCIBLY reinstalling it and breaking everything again.

This is totally, completely unacceptable. If M$ is going to force Windows Updates on us like they "OWN" our PCs, then those updates had BETTER WORK.

For me, this is just about the last straw.

If this isn't resolved very soon, we will be switching all computers in our household to a different OS and leaving M$ products behind for good.

I've spent FAR too much money on this company and its products to be treated like this as a customer.

I have the same issue since Windows updated itself a couple weeks ago and I'm about to lose my mind. I have tried everything and nothing works. The keyboard works on another computer so it's not a hardware issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device drivers multiple times. I have gone through every suggestion in every thread I can find. The amount of time it's taking me to type this message is insane, because the "e" doesn't work (not to mention the "p" and "enter". Look at how many "e's" I needed here. I had to copy and paste every one of them... THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH THE UPDATE! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!

!!!! This is a serious problem the Microsoft needs to address ASAP. !!!!

I have had two (2) separate Windows 11 machines (one came with Win11, one I put it on over Win10) that have gone down within the last week, same thing. Input lag all over the place (typing/mouse), pixel-at-a-time adjustments on sliders (e.g., volume, brightness), 10 minutes to boot into a usable state, the whole thing comes grinding to a halt and gets stuck, EXTREMELY high CPU usage on strange, random windows components. I'm about to back-date both machines to Windows 10.

I've had to completely reinstall Windows 11 on one machine, as this seems to be the only way to fix it. The second I have not touched.

    This is either:

    1. An extremely bad, poorly vetted Windows update that needs to be rolled back NOW, or
    2. A symptom of a zero-day exploit that MS needs to remediate ASAP.

I've started a separate thread detailing the issues my machines are experiencing, which seem likely to be related, if not the same issue, as this one. Also back-linked that thread to this one. Of important note to mention is that the issues started overnight for both machines, while not in use — highly suggesting Windows Update as the culprit.

That didn't help at all. Also, if it's a driver problem, then why does playing music in the background completely fix the issue? It's not enough to have e.g. MediaMonkey open in the background, but as soon as I hit play, everything is fine. To me it looks like a Windows bug.

This is really bad, you can see if the latest update helps, if it still doesn't work, you can try uninstalling the latest update and see if it works again.
