Windows 10-Having to repair M720 Triathlon Logitech Mouse each time for it to work properly

Hey, I would like some insight on why I have to repair my bluetooth M720 Triathlon Logitech Mouse each time for it to work properly even when distance from bluetooth adapter is less than one meter and no obstacles between.

Not a tech guy here, but I have come to realize that repairing the mouse everytime is the only way I can get it to work properly, other way, after rebooting Windows 10 the mouse will be recognized but keep stuttering with normal usage, making it useless.

Problem seems OS derived due to it not happening with other bluetooth periphericals on same PC, and the mouse and 5.0 Bluetooth adapter working properly on other computers. Drivers are up to date and several tests on the used hardware would not suggest trouble coming from physical components.

Thanks for your attention.

It is a Bluetooth adapter issue. No warning on Device Manager and yes, drivers are up to date from Logitech themselves.

Are you using the unifying software to connect/pair or Windows Bluetooth?

Have you cross-posted over on the Logitech forum?

The latest windows version is 21H2. It may be that newer fixes contained in the feature update are not installed. I would upgrade to this & see what happens. If you’d prefer not to I understand.

Thanks for your time, lady Virginia

I'm running Windows 10 Pro 21H1. The mouse works correctly in other devices, bought directly from an authorized Logitech seller, its batteries are practically new (other batteries tested, issue remains).

Logitech Options is active, but the problem I described persists whether that software is installed or not. Both Logitech options and M720 Triathlon Logitech Mouse are updated.

No USB ports are set to sleep after X time. Problem persists no matter what USB port I use for connecting Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter.

    Thanks for your interest again!

Hello, I’m Virginia, I have 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems. May I ask which Windows 10 build are you running - 2004, 20H2, 21H1 or 21H2?

Has the mouse ever worked correctly?

Was the mouse purchased new from Logitech or a reputable store or via a third party?

Have you downloaded the Logitech Options software as well as their firmware update tool & checked for any firmware update to the mouse?

Have you fitted new batteries or ensured they’re fully recharged (in the case of rechargeable batteries)?

Check to see if the USB ports are set to sleep after X minutes under device manager.

Is it a Bluetooth adapter issue or a Logi issue?

Does Device Manager show any Yellow warnings?

Have you installed Logi drivers direct from Logi support?
