Have same problem, everything is ok when using keyboard and mouse, but when tries to input by gamepad (Gamesir T4 but it on Windows sees as Xbox 360 gamepad) HDD usage jumps to 100%, physically its start clicking and any game is freezing
When connecting the original xbox hdd gamepad is loaded at 100%
Hello. Bought an original xbox wireless controller. Problems occur when connecting to a Windows 11 PC. After connecting, there are no problems, but as soon as I press any button on the gamepad, the PC boots to 100% HDD. I look through the task manager. PC lags also start. Textures disappear in games. Immediately after disconnecting the gamepad from the PC, everything disappears. I connect via wire.
What I did:
- tried another wire
- tried different USB ports
- updated the gamepad through "XBOX Accessories"
- updated Windows
- updated all drivers
- Checked HDD
- Changed the batteries in the gamepad
- Checked the gamepad on a Windows 10 PC. No problems
I really appreciate the community's help!

2022-03-22T20:11:42+00:00 You did everything including the gold standard Clean Install in 3 1/2 hours? That's not really possible.
This is an interactive process. I give steps to perform, you do each one and then report back results until something works, so I know what to suggest next. If you need help performing any step, just ask back. But please do not skip any steps. We often find out the skipped step is the fix.

2022-03-22T06:04:27+00:00 Hello, I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.
There is a known issue of 100% hard drive usage in Windows 10 which may have come over to WIndows 11 like other bugs have, since they're the same OS except with a new GUI on 11.
So let's run through the fixes to see if it matches:

https://www.kapilarya.com/fix-windows-10-100-pe...
If none of those help then go over WIndows 11 with this checklist to find and fix problems:
- See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem started:
https://itechhacks.com/system-restore-windows-11/
System Restore is your first line of defense and can take you back to a point before a problem began like a time machine. If it doesn't help then you can undo it. Read about it first in the tutorial above and then try restoring to just before this started. If System Restore is not enabled on C drive do that now so it's available in the future.
If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.droidwin.com/how-to-stop-only-a-spe...
- Check for Updates at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to expedite install of all, including any needed restarts, until no more are offered when you go back to check again.
Then do the same in MS Store > My Library > Get Updates.
- Update your drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads webpage foryour exact model. While there check for the latest Chipset, BIOS, Sound, Network, USB3, Bluetooth and all other drivers to compare with the version/date installled for that device in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.
If the drivers are not present or not working for Facial Recognition or Fingerprint then contact your PC manufacturer's Support.
- Establish a Clean Boot to turn off Startup Freeloaders that can conflict and cause issues:
https://www.makeuseof.com/clean-boot-windows-11/
- Download, install and run a full scan with free Malwarebyes from https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/ after enabling Root Kit scan in Scan Settings. Clean Up anything it finds and then run again. Turn off Real Time trial in Control panel to keep as on-demand scanner.
- Run System File Checker/DISM in WIndows 11:
https://www.elevenforum.com/t/use-system-file-c...
- If that doesn't fix it then you can do a Windows 11 Repair Upgrade which reinstalls Windows while saving your files and apps in place, brings it up to the latest version by the most stable method, takes about an hour and resolves most problems: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/repair-install-wi...
- If that fails then consider doing a gold standard Clean Install: wipe all partitions off the drive first, after install expedite all Windows Updates until no more are offered, then import manufacturer's drivers. Guide here:

HARDWARE TESTS -
- Test the memory using WIndows Memory Diagnostics: https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-det...
If problems are found then test the RAM overnight to stress it with the best bootable test memtest86, following this guide to test both sticks and slots:
https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/how-to-test...
- Test the hard drive or SSD with diagnostics:
https://www.lifewire.com/free-hard-drive-testin...
https://mashtips.com/ssd-health-test-and-perfor...
HP and Dell have hardware diagnostics triggered by tapping the ESC or F12 keys respectively as you power on.
Best is to use the HDD/SSD manufacturer's own if there is one, otherwise use Seatools bootable long test: http://blog.nowherelan.com/2013/04/04/boot-seat...
Follow this up with a full Disk Check from the Command Prompt in Repair Mode or from bootable media: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/check-hard-dri... if necessary from the Command Prompt at boot: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanc...
- Stress test the rest of your hardware:

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
