Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power (uncheck permanently)

I have a Intel Wireless Gigabit Software Device. Unchecking this helps but it checks itself back on every once in a while for no reason. I want this permanently unchecked. No solutions using Google search. Power Management is on NEVER for everything I can put never on. Any ideas why this keeps checking itself?

Hi, my name is Neil, and I'm a Windows 10 user like you.

Sorry you're experiencing this option keep rechecking itself back on.

Please see the following information page from Intel regarding this option: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support...

As you can see, Intel says "The setting under Device Manager Power Management tab Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power has no effect on Wi-Fi power management."

This option has NO effect on the WiFi power management. It is only active during suspend or hibernation states. So your WiFi will not power off with this setting checked, it only powers off if Windows is forced into a suspend or hibernation state.

Intel recommends the box is kept checked, but if it has no impact on your WiFi then keeping it checked or unchecked will make no difference.

The reason why it keeps rechecking itself can be caused by driver updates or Windows updates.

    I hope this helps.

    Kindest regards,

    Neil
