Why hasnt microsoft remade windows for phones. Phones in 2022 have same output now as laptops,i have a galaxy S10 with 8gbram 128 gb storage 1440p display but because samsung dont want to update it anymore its faith now is the landfill. what a waste,id pay a license fee to microsoft to add windows os to it. this 4 year cycle sucks, the hardware is far better and would last alot longer with windows arm installed, maybe it,s something they should consider doing.

There is a market for windows on phones. My galaxy s10 is pretty much at the end of its security patch life with samsung but the hardware is still relevant by todays standards. 8gbram 128gb storage and a 1440p display,an octacore, gpu etc.

Windows 10 could easily run on this phone for three or four more years. id pay them for a license. spending a 150euro is alot better than dropping another 1,400 on a new phone with pretty much the same hardware or hardware that never really gets used.

Given the option on a new phone between google, apple and microsoft,id give windows my money purely on security longevity. phones should last well beyond 4 years.its down to pure greed that they dont.

phone hardware is now good enough to run windows without having limitations.

    Hi 6C1

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Microsoft did make a few attempts at mobile operating systems (Windows 8 and 10 mobile), and a couple of years ago, they gave up on the idea of further developing a mobile version of Windows, even their new Surface Phone runs on a version of Android, not Windows, it is very unlikely they will be developing a new version of Windows Mobile.

Also, when they were producing a Mobile version of Windows, that would only run on specific hardware, it was not capable of running on standard mobile phones that were originally installed with Android.

Why hasnt microsoft remade windows for phones.

Google (Android) and Apple (iOS) own this market (mobile device operating systems) and there is no room for a competitor, even one as large as Microsoft.
