    Hi Dyari

Many thanks for replying to my pc problems. Unfortunately it did not solve my problems.

When I boot up the pc (win 10) and put in my pin number, the icon keep spinning for a minute or two the screen then turned black. I cannot even see the "start" button and cannot shut down or restart. The only way is to switch off from the wall switch. I created a boot disk using usb and I was able to see all the various instructions but no matter which options I use the screen would not open. It keeps telling me the pc is not able to perform such option. The only thing I could do is to shut down via the usb. It wouldn't perform all other tasks. I would be thankful if you could provide more help. Much appreciated.

    Mike

    Hi MikeYap

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Have you done anything to your computer like updating, upgrading or installing new software?

Kindly try the following methods to fix the issue:

1-Force the computer to shut down 2 times until you get windows Troubleshooting > Advanced Options:

    A-Startup repair.

B-If you have a system restore point, perform a system restore.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/rec...

C-If you installed any updates recently, uninstall it

D-Click on Command Prompt > Type this command and hit enter:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

    sfc /scannow

    Also try boot repair commands:

    bootrec /scanos

    bootrec /fixmbr

    bootrec /fixboot

    bootrec /rebuildbcd

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

    chkdsk /r

E-If you have enabled fast boot in UEFI Firmware, disable it:

2-If it did not help, start your computer in Safe Mode:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

if you could log in with Safe Mode, open CMD as administrator > Type these commands and hit enter:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

    sfc /scannow

Then, restart your computer and check to see if the issue has been fixed or not.

3-If it did not help, create a bootable USB of Windows 10 with another PC and boot your computer with the USB:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/cre...

On the installation window, click on repair and try the options provided in step 1.

After that, check if it fixed the issue or not.

4-Try to enable Built-in Administrator account and see if you are able to login with it or not:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2969-enable...

5-If the issue is still unfixed, perform a clean install:
