Windows 11 uninstall McAfee

I am hoping someone in the community could help me. I am trying to uninstall the McAfee Software from my new laptop. I already have Norton 360 and desire for this unit to have Norton and not McAfee.

Thanks... any valid information regarding this on Windows 11 would be appreciated.

I can't believe that Microsoft can't provide a simple link for Users of Windows to remove these pesky apps.

    Hello memaw&gram,

I agree with the reply questions_ sent you further up in this thread. In order to remove all of the lingering files in McAfee you will need to go to there site and download the " **McAfee Consumers Product Removal Tool** " the (**MCPR**). Once you download and run this file you shouldn't have any more problems with McAfee.

Tip: I wouldn't install Norton either

Have you been to your McAfee account and used it to remove your devices and close your account? You should be able to remove McAfee from your devices too but do that before you close your account.

If that isn't what you want to do have you looked at the Control Panel and Uninstall a program?

When I attempt to uninstall Mcafee, a message from "AnchorFree" appears and asks if I want to allow them to make changes to my computer.

    Hello 👋

You can uninstall McAfee in Apps > Apps & features > Search McAfee > Click on the 3 dots next to it > Uninstall.

    Then you follow the instructions
