Monitor Drivers

I have been trying to update my monitor drivers for a while now. I got the official drivers from their website and then tried to update it manually. Windows told me that the best options were already installed. Well, the "best option" is from 2006 so I doubt that. I then proceeded to go into test mode and disabling driver signature enforcement. Despite that, I am still unable to update my driver. Windows still believes that its 2006 one is the best option. Help would be appreciated.

It's Windows 10 - 64 bit and an AOC monitor.

Thanks for the reply! So my monitor's DisplayPort isn't working and I saw someone talk about updating the drivers so you could access it as well as possibly freesync. This is my final attempt in making it possible to use these features. If this doesn't work then I may have to admit defeat and deal with it until I can buy another monitor.

The model is the AOC G2460PF

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.

It could also be a problem with the DisplayPort cable. Have you tried connecting the monitor using the cable that you are sure is working?

Also, test the other monitor inputs if possible. I see that in addition to DisplayPort, this monitor has HDMI, DVI, and VGA.

I don't install monitor drivers, even for gamer monitors. Unless recommended by the manufacturer. However, even when recommended by the manufacturer, the monitor does not fail to display an image without the driver. So I don't think that the driver's missing is the cause of the problem.

I have been able to test the DisplayPort on another monitor and it works. I haven't been able to test the AOC monitor on another computer, though.

So you think that the AOC's DisplayPort just doesn't work for whatever reason?

    Thanks for the clarification.

Have you tested this monitor on another computer? Or have you tested another monitor on the same DisplayPort?

If another monitor works on the computer's DisplayPort or if this monitor has the same behavior connected to another computer, I don't see how installing this driver will solve the problem as it may be a problem with the monitor itself.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Any specific reason you want to install this driver?

What is your AOC monitor model?

Please provide the link to the driver you downloaded.

The 2006 driver you mentioned seems to be the generic driver. Can you send a screenshot of the "Driver" tab of device properties in Device Manager?
