Exactly as the title says. I'm able to open the panel but for some reason it refuses to search anything whether it's gifs, emojis, or symbols. I've tried disabling and enabling the windows search service, I also ran ctfmon.exe, and I also double checked my language and input settings.

Edit: it might have something to do with keyman I have 2 languages installed

I was having the same issue yesterday and was able to resolve it for myself. Unfortunately, I'm not running keyman like you so I'll share with you my solution and then a keyman-related page I found while doing my own troubleshooting.

    My solution:

Ensure that "Basic typing" is installed for your preferred language pack. For reference, I'm running English (Australia)

The keyman solution I found online: https://community.software.sil.org/t/cant-search-for-emojis-or-gifs-in-the-windows-emoji-panel-if-keyman-is-running/5559/6

    Hope this helps!

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Do you mean the emoji keyboard turned on by using Win + . Keys? If you are not able to use Windows Search by inserting an emoji, then I think you can try a Windows fix by following the steps in the below link:  Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system filesP.S. Please note that the Windows Search column only accepts characters, so inputing GIFs will not activate a search.

We look forward to your response.
