I was drawing on ms paint and was going around closing tabs so that the software would run more smoothly. I realised I closed the ms paint tab, which was strange because usually it goes "save before closing?". I know it was dumb not to save the project from the beginning, and I have checked my recycling bin. Please help.

Unfortunately, you can't recover your unsaved work. The reason is that until you save your work, it exists only in your computer's memory. Once you save, it gets written to your computer's hard drive.
Paint does not have a feature like Officer 365 has, that saves your work automatically every x minutes in the background. If you don't save it, it isn't saved. Sorry about that.
