IBM’s Trusteer Rapport software breaks Windows 10 + 11

My bank website will only work if I install special software to “protect” my computer. They provide a link to download it and it is called Trusteer Rapport by IBM. And I can enter my bank’s website. But an hour later things on Windows just stop working. The last time I tried installing it the file explorer wouldn’t load. I ended up restoring Windows from the last restore point (before installing Trusteer Rapport) and magically everything is working again. I have been through this process at least 15 times. About 5 times I restored Windows from scratch. But now that I know what the problem is I make sure to create a restore point before installing Trusteer Rapport. This is a warning to anyone who is forced to use this software when accessing their banking website. This happens on both Windows 10 and 11. I can access my bank using the app for my phone without any problems. But there are certain things that have to be done on a computer.

    Hi Gary.

Sorry to hear! I would suggest you rather try and uninstall Trusteer completely from your computer and rather don't use it at all, until Rapport Trusteer has sorted the incompatibility issues with Win 11. You may also visit Trusteer's website for other ideas!

I myself completely uninstalled, registry cleaned etc. and waiting ... Good luck!

I also had similar issues regarding this software, which worked great previously until recently. 2 days ago a popup appeared to update the Rapport Trusteer software and did so and once it was installed, windows 11 needed to restart. But, then Windows could not start up and I had many retries to get my Windows back to normal. I finally had to start Windows in Safe Mode and uninstall Rapport Trusteer and with some Registry manual deletes. The issue was caused by the "Rapporthades64.sys" file not loading and kept Windows from starting up. Now I wanted to re-install Rapport Trusteer, but with no luck? It keeps giving me a popup that I have the latest Rapport Trusteer software installed, but nowhere on my laptop is any traces of the software to be found as I had to manually delete any registry traces and did a complete uninstall via "YourUninstaller" as well.

I managed to get Trusteer Rapport installed, the extension icon views in the browser task bar, BUT it never changes green whenever I log into Internet Banking ? It stays grey. I've tried all possible options.

Exactly so. It destroyed my use profile. That rippled on to my MS account profile locking me out of my email. I could not even get past the lock screen, it said no such profile exists.

Thank god I made a recent rescue DVD. Booting from it let me back in so I could roll back to a previous restore point.

This is lethal piece of software. I can deal with a MALWARE AND VIRUSES bur not this.

It was damaging to my business interests.

Raport and Santander are putting thier heads in the sand on this.
