Hi golfph-
I'm Kevin B. Windows user like you. I do apologize for the inconvenience, let me help you sort things out.
Is there any changes before the issue started?
Kindly press Windows key + R
Type: control panel.
Hit enter
On the control panel Window click hardware and sound.
Click on Power Options.
Click on Choose what closing the lid does.
On the section of When I closes the lid - set it to sleep.
If it is already set to sleep, change it on different settings then save settings.
Restart the computer then go to the same settings again then change it back to sleep again.
Restart the computer one more time and check if issue persists.
Please let me know what will happen. Hope this will help and have a blessed day!
Thanks,
Kevin B.
