Using Rufus to install a Windows iso. image

I am far from expert but, I have tried to use Rufus to install onto a flash drive a Windows10 iso file. Everything seemed to be ok until the very, very end when I had a message on the screen saying that I was missing an app to complete. I only remember something about ,Source.install.esd'. I did not know what t do and so I installed 'esd'. Now I do not feel that I can trust this stick at all. I would greatly appreciate some advice. I am happy to go through the installation procedure again, using Rufus (which I have used before without being told that I am 'missing an app'.

There have been other occasion in the past when I have had similar messages telling me that I am misssing an app. I

remember one example was when using a mail app, I had a very similar message saying that I could not send an attachment with a message because I did not have the appropriate app installed. It was a while ago. I may not be explaining this correctly.

Can anyone help?

Thanks for any help I might receive.

I would like to thank you for replying very promptly to my question. I have to admit that I found your reply very detailed for my level of ability. However, fortunately I have been given some advice which was more at my level and, happily, have managed to resolve my issue.

Thank you so much for wishing to help me.
