MSVCR100 dll

What is it and why is it missing, from windows 10, I use it to play films and now they won't play because its a missing file. So why? and where can I retrieve it and how can I add it to the system. It was always there on windows 8. may have to revert to 8, if it cant be resolved not sure why it was omitted from the download, but that appears to be the case. The message just states this file cannot be played because FILE (MSVCR100 dll) is missing from this system. This was a new download windows 10 64 bit, six days ago and nothing has been deleted.

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    The lack of this DLL can be fixed by installing "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable". Probably the application that is showing this error depends on it installed.

    Download from the links below. I suggest you install both the x86 and x64 versions.

    I suggest also installing "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 Redistributable".
