device manager "other devices" drivers not installing

I've tried completely uninstalling the drivers and restarting the computer, and after I restarted the same issues came back up. Sometimes the "unknown USB Device (Configuration Descriptor Request Failed)" will fix itself (and then come back), but the ones in "Other Devices" do not. Motherboard is ASUS prime z690-p wifi d4. I'm still on windows 10 since I have an older capture card that won't work with 11. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi AP. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Update your chipset and USB drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from the Asus downloads page for your motherboard model here:

    https://www.asus.com/us/SupportOnly/PRIME%20Z69...

Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

You should also expedite install of all Windows Updates, including optional from Windows Settings > Update & Security > WIndows Update > Check for Updates, until no more are offered after restarts. BUT updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page. Everything else depends on this.

If after updating all drivers any Unknown devices still exist, here is how to trace these by their Hardware ID: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki.... I can help if you report back the Hardware ID long and short string it shows how to find in the tutorial.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
