PC keeps crashing (kernel-power 41 / 0x8000400000000002)

so my PC keeps crashing with seemingly no reason eversince the May genral win update (win10). up until that point it was running perfectly and there wasn't any changes in softwares for a good while before that. since then, I tried everything, and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING. I tried clean installing windows myself, took it to a professional to fix it when it didn't help, they did another clean instal without the update (that I couldn't remove myself because it was buggy) and it keeps happening. I tried SFC and DCIM (it fixed some corrupted files at some point but it finds nothing else these days), updated some drivers and did pretty much everything that I could find on the internet. yet, the issue is the same. I'm at my 3rd clean win instal right now and it's annoying.

so the error I keep getting is this: kernel-power 41 / 0x8000400000000002

it's totally random when it happens, it's not software or time specific, sometimes it doesn't even happen for a day or two and then other times it happens ever 5 mins, so I'm at complete loss.

if anyone could offer any solutions I would be most appreciative.

Hi, so it turned out it was my SSD that died. We couldn't really figure out why or how, because when the diagnostics were run on the PC, there was not a single issue. It seems to be a "not just me" problem because the professionals said they had some other PCs with the same errors around the time. So I got a new SSD and the PC is back up running like nothing happened.

I personally still think it was a bug in one of the win updates that fried the system.

Hi Dave, thanks for still being here.

My PC still didn't crash which is great but also weird, so I still don't have minidumps, but I figured I could get the same info from the Eventviewer?! So I saved out my logs both in .evtx and .csv in hope you can take a look at them. You can find both on the link bellow.

Turns out I still have problems in the background, I just don't notice them as much since no big crashes happening. I just want to know what is wrong at this point so I can fix it before the whole PC dies on me.

p.s.: unfortunately my Win was set to Hungarian at some point and the logs show that. I hope it's not a problem

    Thanks again.

Hi Dave, thanks for the help!

I checked my PC for any crash log files, but apparently there aren't any at the moment. I suspect it's because I have CCleaner running after big crashes as they generate huge temp dumps (like 8-12GB) at times. I went and set up the minidumps, but the PC decided to run smoothly since I posted, so I'm kind of waiting for it to happen at the moment... As I said, it's completely random when it crashes, there's no specific task to trigger it.

Once I can get a minidump, I will post a link with it.

    Thanks again.

    Hi ribhinnog ,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you.
