Microsoft Mobile 3500 Mouse

Just got a new mouse Microsoft Mobile 3500 Mouse... plugged in the transceiver, switched mouse on... and nothing.... Hmm... checked out the driver page at the Mouse & Keyboard Center Download Center.... Downloaded 64 bit as per my system.... But every time I tried installing I was getting an error.... so i checked the certificate and it shows that the certificate is valid ONLY until Dec 2nd 2021 - This I would imagine would cause the error with installation.....

So... I am now stuck with a mouse that I cannot get working, a driver from Microsoft download center that is supposed to be supported but comes with an invalid and outdated certificate....

Anyone had any similar experience with this? Or any idea how to fix.... thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

Did you download the app here? What version did you download? Is it 14.41.137.0?

**** Mouse and Keyboard Center download (microsoft.com)

What is the prompt when installing the software? Is the driver signature expired or the software's signature expired?

Can it be installed on other computers?

We need this information to check for possible errors. We look forward to hearing from you.

This may not be related to the version of Windows.

In your reply, this mouse is identified as Microsoft Nano Transceiver v1.0 and is not classified as a mouse.

You can try uninstalling this device in "Other Devices". Replace one USB port and plug it back in.

Let Windows detect the device after replugging it. If the device still cannot be detected, then you can try creating a new local account and see if you can use this and the device in the new account.

    1. Press Win+R, enter and run netplwiz, which will open the User Account window. Click the "Add" button, choose not to use Microsoft account and create a new local account. After the creation, select the new user name, click Properties, and change the new account to administrator in the group members.
    2. Open the Start Menu, click on the left avatar to switch accounts, or press Win+L to lock the screen and switch.

    Hi Kirk

Update: Just tried the mouse and transceiver in my wifes laptop - it works fine! didn't have to do anything... it just works...

I notice on HER laptop in Device Manager, the mouse shows as a HID device (Microsoft USB Dual Receiver Wireless Mouse (Mouse and Keyboard Center) under the Mice section

but on my laptop, i insert the transceiver and in Device Manager it shows under Other Devices as Microsoft Nano Transceiver v1.0.

The reason i got this mouse is because my previous (SAME mouse) stopped working. I tried my old mouse and transceiver just now and that shows the same thing. (Other Devices: Microsoft Nano Transceiver v1.0) and doesn't show in Mice and other pointing devices.

    Weird.

Any idea what might be going on with my laptop / Windows ???

Hi, thanks for coming back so quickly... It is 64 bit version 14.41 and is downloaded from the Microsoft Mouse and download center at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/mouse-and-keyboard-center-download-f5b10905-7887-eedb-2f1c-d0737a36a3b2  and from there, you can only download 1 version - the latest I assume.

    Regarding the install process:

I open the downloaded file MouseKeyboardCenter_64bit_ENG_14.41.exe. It extracts for setup.exe

I click Accept for the Licence terms

It says mouse and keyboard center software is ready to install - I click on Install

It says installing and after 1 second I get pop up error message:

"Setup must close because an error occurred. Verify that the computer meets the system requirement on the product packaging and try running Setup again. If this happens again, see Help for customer support options. (Error Code 2)."

So, no info regarding signature or certificate having expired, that was just something i noticed myself when i checked the certificate when it asks : Do you want this app to make changes to your device:

Show information about the publishers certificate:

    Certificate Information:

    Issued to Microsoft Corporation

Issued by Microsoft Code Signing PCA 2011

    Valid from 15/11/20 to 02/12/2021

I haven't tried this on any other computer. My wife also has a Microsoft 3500 mouse which works and i don't want to screw that up.... Hope this info helps....

    thanks

    Andy
