Restore on window 11

I did a clean install of windows and I wanted to restore the computer back to a restore point I had but each time I select “restore from another device” it instead sets up my pc as a new device instead of as the device I selected it to be restored from. None of my apps or files are there anymore. Instead everything is wiped as if I have never used the computer before and I’ve tried it multiple times to the same result. How do I get it to restore as my old pc again?

    Hello TheAnnoyed_, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

    If you performed a clean install it may have deleted the restore points created by the system;

    However you can try to restore the system to an earlier date;

    • Press the “Windows+R” keys now type RSTRUI and click “OK”.
    • Click on "Show more restore points" so that more options of dates to restore appear and then choose a point with a previous date;
    • Proceed through the screens until the restoration starts and completes.

    Note: System Restore will leave the computer the way it was on the date you choose, that is, if a program was installed after the date you chose, the program will not appear installed after the restore, and so on. Files and personal data are not lost, such as documents, music, videos, photos, etc.

    See you soon!

    Dear TheAnnoyed_,if there is no restore point created by the system it will be impossible to recover these files;

    To avoid this type of problem in the future, create system restore points, so if you have any problems on your PC, just return to the created restore point;

    If you have questions about how to create a restore point I recommend you see the link below:

    Hi LuizScruz,

    Thank you so much for your response. Unfortunately when I got to the “show more restore points” it said that there were no longer any restore points.

    Windows set up still seems to recognize my old computer and even from the “restore from another device” window has it listed by the name I created for it. But in settings or the rstrui window it doesn’t show any restore points.
