0xc000000e Error

Hello, Im having issues with my Win10 PC. Every SECOND time I boot it up I get the "0xc000000e - Your PC needs to be repaired" (BSOD) error message.

I think its related to me installing windows anew to reduce loading times. When I did that a few months ago I had an error message I cant really recall but after restarting the problem was gone. After that I had that issue.

I have no trouble booting up the PC after the BSOD but its really annoying and now Im trying to fix it.

I tried Windows startup repair, which did nothing to me, and resetting the BIOS to default settings. After that I tried rebooting, accessing CMD and typed "bootrec /rebuildbcd" **** but there was no windows installation found. I think thats the key to solving the issue for me but I dont know what to do now.

Also while doing all of that I had another BSOD telling me Im missing "winload.efi" for whatever reason. After some research Ive typed ""sfc /scannow" into CMD and it replaced the file. Dont know if thats related to the issue.

Would really appreciate any help.

Hi, I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

I know how frustrating this may be for you but I'll do my very best to help you.

Some common causes for the error 0xc00000e are:

-Problems like corruption or deletion of files in the Boot Configuration Database (BCD) which includes files and parameters that help to boot Windows.

-Hard disk failures can also cause this error.

-Sudden shutdowns due to unstable electrical supply

Here is some troubleshooting that you can try to fix this problem.

Solution 1: Check the health of the hard drive and scan for errors. You can use the SeaTools bootable to create a bootable USB and test your hard drive. It includes several tests that will examine the physical media on your Seagate, Maxtor or Samsung disk drive and any non-Seagate disk drive.

You can see more information at these links.

Solution 2: Repair the boot files.

1-Restart your computer while holding the SHIFT button

2-The Advanced Startup menu will open on the boot.

    3-Go to Troubleshoot.

4-Now, go to Advanced Options >Command prompt

    5-Run these commands:

    chkdsk c: /f /r (and press Enter)

    bootrec /fixmbr (and press Enter)

    bootrec /fixboot (and press Enter)

    bootrec /scanos (and press Enter)

    bootrec /rebuildbcd (and press Enter)

    sfc /scannow (and press Enter)

6-When finished close the command prompt then click to return to the first screen

7-Click to continue to normal boot

Solution 3: You can perform the repair upgrade using the Media Creation Tool, this procedure will repair all Windows files.

    1-Download the media creation tool.

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

2-Run the tool and select 'Upgrade this pc now'

3-Select the option 'Keep all my files and apps'

    4-Then click to update.

Solution 4: Reinstall Windows. As long as you do not format the C: drive in the Setup, you will not lose your data, but they are moved to another location. After the installation, you can find a folder Windows.old in the root directory of C: drive. All your files are saved there.

1-Create a USB device with an installation image.

You can create using the media creation tool, download it on this link.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

2-Enter on BIOS/UEFI and change to boot from the USB device.

    3-Click "Install Now".

4- Type your product key or skip it. Usually, your computer will be activated automatically when it's connected to a network if your install the same version of Windows 10 as before.

5- Select the installation type "Custom".

6- Select the C: drive and click Next to proceed. Then, wait patiently until the installation is complete 100%.

*Note: This procedure only will keep the personal files, all software and apps need to be reinstalled.
