I accidentally uninstalled my wifi network adapter driver and I completed a system restore, but that still hasn’t fixed my problem.

This problem came out of nowhere. One morning, I think there was a problem with my wifi network adapter and a solution online was to uninstall and restart, but that made my problem worse because the driver never reinstalled on its own. I finally found an ethernet cable adapter and tried downloading an intel wifi network adapter driver (.exe), but no luck with that either. So, I completed a system restore to when I didn’t have any problems, but it hasn’t fixed anything.

Hello, I’m Virginia, I have 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems.

You might have to reinstall an older driver via the device’s entry within device manager if it doesn’t show then check under show hidden devices.

    Right click device.

    Choose update driver.

Choose ‘browse my computer for drivers’.

Choose ‘let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer’.

Choose the compatible hardware from the list, then choose next.

Choose one of the older drivers from the list shown, then click next.

This will then reinstall the driver.

What wi-fi adapter is in/on your computer?

What do you have showing under Device Manager?

Have you right clicked on your adapter and tried to update it?

Assuming this is a branded PC you update ALL drivers from that PC makers support site, and NO WHERE else.

With any new PC that maker will have placed an update shortcut on the desktop
