Network Realtime Inspection Service uses 100% of my GPU

Hi,

I have an issue with Windows 11 Defender : Microsoft Network Realtime lnspection Service.exe uses 100% of my GPU.

It causes my PC to overheat and to shutdown because of heat. The only solution I've found is to remove the .exe each time I turn on my computer (and it comes back at every startup).

I've tried to run SFC and DISM without success :/

I'm on Windows 11 Professionnel 22H2 / Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10870H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21 GHz x64

Expérience : Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22632.1000.0

Does anyone have a solution (even temporary) ?

Thanks

    Hi Lulucmy,

Welcome to post in Microsoft Community. I'm Mosken, let me help you figure it out.

According to your description, I knew that you find that "Microsoft Network Realtime lnspection Service.exe" takes up a lot of your computer resources, which causes the computer to heat up. You try to delete the application, but the program will automatically resume after each restart. Is that right?

The Microsoft Network Real-Time Inspection Service" process (also known as NisSrv.exe) is part of Microsoft's antivirus software.

This service is always running in the background of your PC, monitoring and inspecting network traffic in real time. It's looking for suspicious behavior, which indicates that attackers are trying to exploit security holes in network protocols to attack your PC. If such an attack is detected, Windows Defender shuts it down immediately.

If you want to suspend the program from running in the background, you can try turning off real-time protection in Windows Security. Win + Q to open the search box, enter ''Windows security', Enter to open "Windows security" > "Virus & threat protect on" > "Manage settings" under "Virus & threat protection settings”, turn off the "Real-time Protection".

NOTE: Turning off real-time protection may bring security risks to your system, please operate with caution.

Also I noticed that you may be a Windows Insider Program member, so your system is not as stable as the normal version. If this happens after you install a new system update, you can try uninstalling the most recent update and see if it works. "Win" logo key + "Q", enter "control" to open "Control Panel" (viewed by Category) > "Programs" > "Programs and Features" > "View installed updates", sort by date, select to uninstall recent updates , restart.

The above steps are provided based on the information I have learned so far, I wish that will be helpful to you. If your problem still cannot be solved by these steps, you could tell me the specific situation in the next reply. I will continue to assist you in solving the problem.

    Hi,

I've tried to suspend the real-time protection and it stops running Microsoft Network Realtime lnspection Service.exe

But it's not safe and I'd like to find a solution. I've tried to remove the most recent update but it didn't work. What can I do to stop if from using 100% of my GPU ?
