Trying to install Ryzen Master, but there is a huge problem

Hi,

I tried installing Ryzen Master today after recently purchasing a Windows 10 activation key and noticed a much larger problem was happening. My system is not picking up that I am on an AMD cpu (Ryzen 9 5900X on ASUS x570 tuf gaming motherboard) when I tried to install AMD Software Adrenalin Edition as seen in the first screenshot. This same issue occurs when I try installing AMD Ryzen Master and StoreMI off of AMD's website. Another issue I have noticed is that my main user (THomas D'Agostino) does not show up in my command bar or in the computer management interface when managing the users as seen in the second, third and fourth screenshots. I am not sure why this issue is happening and would really appreciate some feedback on how I can fix this issue as I have had my Ryzen 9 5900X since November 2020 and really want to update the drivers to the most recent chipset, and have been hindered by this issue for a long time.

Thanks

    Hi

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Your problem may be caused by some configuration problems or registry problems of your Windows system. You could try the following steps first.

    1. Press Win+R, type regedit to enter the registry interface, and locate the following directory.

    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services*

    2. In the services folder find the amdryzenmasterdriverv13 and amdryzenmasterdriverv14.

    3. Right click directly to delete the entire V13 and V14 directory.

    4. Restart your computer after deletion to check whether your ryzen master can be turned on and running normally.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried this method, whiule also creating a backup, and I could not seem to locate the amdryzenmasterdriverv13 and amdryzenmasterdriverv14 files you said to find. The files I found are listed below in the screenshot. Please let me know if you have any other ideas for what this issue could be. Thanks!

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

Your problem may be caused by not installing the AMD motherboard chip. Generally speaking, the first thing to do after installing the system is to install the motherboard chip driver, which involves the subsequent installation of many drivers. Therefore, your Ryzen master cannot be installed may because the motherboard chip is not installed in advance.

My current suggestion is first go to the AMD official website to download the installation package of the motherboard chip driver. Don't install it first. Then uninstall all AMD driver packages in your screenshot (including Ryzen Master), and then restart your computer. Once the restart is complete, then start installing your AMD motherboard chip driver. Restart again after installation. Finally, try to install Ryzen master again to see whether it works normally.

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

The above solution comes from the amd forum, after sending it to you I found out that this solution has expired, because these two registries no longer exist, so I tested the following method for you, hoping to help you.

Go to "Settings" - > "Apps" and uninstall "amd chipset software". If you have the amd graphics driver installed, also uninstall "amd software". Then restart your computer. Install the "amd ryzen master" after booting, see if the issue is recovered.

    Hi Derrick,

Thanks for the reply. I followed your instructions and it turned out that I did not have "amd chipset software" installed. The amd related apps I have installed are listed in the first 3 screenshots below. Also, I am currently on an NVIDIA GPU, so I will disregard the part about the graphics. I can also add that whenever I try to uninstall the AMD Ryzen Master app, it gives me the error show in the fourth screenshot. The error says "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\AMD\Ryzen Master\bin\Setup.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again." Please let me know what this means, and any way I could fix this.

    Thanks.
