Unsupported file after exporting video created in Photos

I use Photos on my Windows laptop to create videos, made up of photos and videos taken on my IPhone.

I don’t usually have any issues with this but I’ve just put together a video project, clicked finish video and chosen my usual USB to save it to. It hangs for about an hour saying ‘exporting’ then Photos just closes. If I try to open the document which has been saved on the USB it states

“This file isn’t playable. That might be because the file type is unsupported, the file extension is incorrect, or the file is corrupt”

This is the way I’ve always done videos so I’m puzzled why it’s happening. Can anyone help please?

Thanks Reza, I have checked and have no updates to download. I’m wondering if it’s a simple case of the video being too long, although I didn’t think 40 mins was very long?

I might try splitting it into two videos to see if it works then.

Are you seeing this message when you attempt to open the video inside Windows?

Try run Windows Update and download and install all updates.

Try open Microsoft Store and update all Microsoft Store applications.
