I have found old discussions that offer this link gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/Rename-picture-files-with-97738191 but that is redirected to TechNet gallery. Is there an updated script that works with Windows 11?

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

There is a free utility for doing this which may assist you here:

Update: I tested the PowerShell script on Windows 10. It works perfectly.

Note that this script adds the image resolution as well in the file name.

Option 1: Use the Bulk Rename Utility.

See How to Rename Photos to “Date Taken”

Option 2: Use the PowerShell script

Be sure to test it on sample image files first to know if this script is suitable for you.

The above script is based on Magnus Ringkjøb's (TechNet Scriptcenter) original script.

The script I posted DOES work. It has been personally tested by me.
