ElQuickSilver's problem is not isolated - this is clearly new bug impacting PC users because I started having the same problem around the same timeframe. Microsoft must have pushed a faulty update and now XBox Game Bar Users on PC can no longer join a party of Xbox live users who are on their Xbox consoles. I can log on to the Xbox Game bar just fine, I can see the the Xbox users online in my friends list, but when I right click on their name the only selectable option I have is "Invite to Party" and my Xbox friends do not receive my invites. The option to "Join Game" or "View Party" is grayed out and unselectable. This is not normal. I joined through the Xbox app on my phone to test and confirm they (friends) were in a party and there I had the option to "Join Party" and it joined just fine - however I was unable to hear in game sounds so it was rather useless.
I can't join other people's xbox parties from my Windows 10 device using the Xbox Game Bar app. Also, it seems I'm still using Game Bar's beta version.. how can I update to the stable version?
Hello everyone.
I've had this problem since two days ago. Before then, I could join Xbox voicechat parties from my Windows 10 system using the Xbox Game Bar app, without any problems.
However, right now I am unable to do so. When I invite other people to my party, they don't receive the invite at all. When other people invite me to their party, I do receive the invite, and the button to accept the invite is there. However, it does not do anything when I click on it. I also tried right-clicking my friends' gamertags and selecting "Join xbox party", but it doesn't do anything as well.
Something that might be related to this issue is that it seems I am using Xbox Game Bar's beta version; on the title of my friend's list, it says "Socials (Beta)". I have no idea how to upgrade to the latest version.
Please, if you have any insight, let me know :)
Thanks in advance

2022-08-28T00:01:26+00:00 Update - I finally figured out how to solve this: My automatic updates were turned off. Check those and then force the Xbox game bar to update. You can also download the XBOX app separately to use temporarily. Before I figured out the solution I was joining parties using the Xbox app on my phone to hear the parties (using ear buds) then headphones plugged into my PC to hear the game.... It sucked but was better than nothing until I figured out the real problem. Reboot your PC after updating the Xbox Game Bar app and you should be good to go.

2022-07-14T23:34:47+00:00 Hi EQS. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.
- Expedite all WIndows Updates from Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates, monitor for requested restart, after restart go back to check for more until none are offered.
- Go into MS Store app > My Library to choose Get Updates, update all of the Store Apps until none are offered.
- Try these fixes for unable to join Xbox Party Chat:

- Try resetting Xbox Game Bar, Xbox Console Companion and Xbox Live in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Xbox feature > Advanced Options. Restart PC and try again.
- If it still fails try re-registering the app from Option 2 here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re...
- If those fail then try uninstalling the app in Settings location above, restart PC then reinstall from MS Store Settings > My Library.
- If none of those fixes help then go over Windows using this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...
Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.
- Update your drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from the PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.
Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page. Everything else depends on this.
- If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, and is also the most stable method to advance to the latest version. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
