Duplicate messages and messages out of order with Phone Link

I have a couple issues I'd like some advice on.

I'm using the Phone Link app on Windows 10. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S21 that I have "paired" with Phone Link.

When I send text messages using Phone Link, it often shows up twice on my phone messages app (I'm using the standard Android messaging app). For example, if I send "Hi Frank" from Phone Link, this is what I see in the Android messaging app.

Hi Frank

Hi Frank

Another similar issue I experience is the messages being out of order in the Phone Link windows app. This typically happens when I'm exchanging messages. The messages I receive is always above the messages I send. The Android messaging app shows them in the correct order. Thus, a message exchange like this:

                            Hi Frank

Hi Doug

Are you seeing two identical messages from me?

No, I haven't seen that

                            That's weird...

Shows up like this in Phone Link:

Hi Doug

No I haven't seen that

                            Hi Frank

Are you seeing two identical messages from me?

                            That's weird.

For the record, the names used in this question are fictitious to protect the innocent and the not-so-innocent....

TIA

Hi CBW. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

I'll give you everything possible for fixing Phone app. Even if you've tried a step please try it over in sequence here:

    1. First try resetting the App in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Phone Link (or Your Phone) > Advanced Options > Repair and then Reset. Restart PC.
    2. Next try re-registering the app from Option 2 here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re...
    3. If those don't work then try the latest fixes working for Phone app:

One of these should normally fix it.

    1. If not you can try reinstalling Phone app as shown here:

If nothing here helps then you may be able to help Microsoft improve this product/experience by using the Feedback Hub in Start menu, especially if you are comfortable with sharing relevant data and screen recordings. Microsoft developers DO read feedback from customers that comes in via the Feedback Hub, so that is a great way to share your thoughts on how to better serve you as a customer.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
