Issues on Windows 11 since april, now I'm unable to game with my PC.

On April, I was able to play until a new update came out for Forza Horizon 5 and Windows. Never had any issue since I first installed Windows 11 in December 2021.

At first, I had the following error:

ForzaHorizon5.exe - Application Error

The Instruction at 0x00007FF65E22B863 referenced memory at 0x000002D0A89FE186. The memory could not be read.

The Instruction at 0x00007FF7794BD787 referenced memory at 0x00000210CA79633. The memory could not be read.

The Instruction at 0x00007FF798A23F89 referenced memory at 0x000000000000010. The memory could not be read.

[After I got this second error, if I try to open a program on the same drive, I get the following when trying to open GOG galaxy or Steam: The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000006).]

I uploaded a video of this issue in Forza Horizon 5, the difference is that I would have the image and then this error. The video is more recent and I got a Blue screen of dead instead which became common on June. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZiAAE1fPos

Tried different troubleshooting to solve this, however it only worked for a few days if I changed my ram from places or added more RAM or less RAM etc...

Changing the virtual memory etc, did not solve this issue.

  • Changed ram modules, running 2x32Gb TZ Neo. Also tried 4x8Gb TZ RGB Also tried 80Gb config with 2 TZ neo 32Gb and 2 TZ RGB 8Gb I also tried different frequencies, 3000, 3200 and 3400. My Rams are all 3600 mhz Tested each ram module separately, they are all fine -

After getting these errors, at first, I noticed I was unable to boot properly when restarting the PC.

The PC was stuck when rebooting, unable to get to safe mode either as it was stuck with a A9 code on the mobo (This code does not show in Taichi manual, w-t-fox asrock?). The only way was turn it off, turn back in, but every time I was trying a restart, it was stuck there, black screen, no image and A9 code.

I was able to get to the part were it shows troubleshoot - advanced options - startup settings - restart. But then, I restarted and it was stuck again. Until I turn it off and on again.

Following this, we were getting crashes in almost every game now with the blue screen of death. You can see it in the video above.

0% complete

Stop Code: CRITICAL PROCESS DIED.

I went on to follow steps to solve this issue, but never got it resolved and been unable to get to safe mode or restart properly, I decided to

change the UEFI of the Taichi mobo, from 4.60, to 4.80, then got back to 4.40.

Was able to reboot, tried more troubleshooting in safe mode, however nothing worked.

Finally I decided to clear everything and reinstall windows 11. backed up important files and removed everything.

I'm now unable to game, I start a game and it crashes.

I did all the known stuff sfc /scannow, everything is fine. I do a memtest86 4 hours + no issues. I do 3D Mark decent results without overclocking. It crashes when trying to do the Time Spy Stress test. [All settings are at stuck exept RAM at 3200 mhz (2 DDR4 32GB each).

Check memory of Nvme drives, Show as Healthy.

Then, I downloaded and paid for Driver Easy, installed every update available, also got Intel Driver and Support Assistant for my wireless intel stuff that comes with the TAICHI mobo.

Tried chkdsk /c As my config is NTFS.

It repaired some files and things, but did not solve my issue.

I also did the following command DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

It resolved some issues, but I launch a game and it crashes.

No error shown on screen, only if I check on Event Viewer.

On the game CONTROL, I do get the following error, troubleshooted it, but did not solve anything.

error:

File IO failure: readFileFailed, error code 433, filename D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Control\data_packfiles\ep101-000-pc.rmdp

Found troubleshooting related to these errors I could find and tried to solve this, but nothing worked.

Finally, opened event viewer and found this error and troubleshooted it, this happened on Gears 5 and here is the troubleshooting steps I followed.

How to Fix 'The Application-Specific Permission Settings do not Grant Local Activation Permission for the COM Server Application' Error - Appuals.com

Set the UEFI of the mobo back to 4.80, still does not work.

Anything I can try? will restoro Repair Tool work for me? HELP!!!!

Is it the PSU or the mobo, any insight of what it can be?

I can provide the errors from the Event Viewer too.

Should I try windows 10?

PC: case: Phanteks p600s Eclipse with stock coolers.

PSU - Rog Thor 850 Watts.

Ryzen 9 5950x - Corsair iCue H115i RGB PRO XT Liquid Cooler.

GPU: RADEON Sapphire RX6800XT Nitro +

Ram installed today, TZ Neo 2x32Gb at 3200 mhz (these RAMS are for 3600 mhz).

Mobo: AsRock x570 Taichi

Nvme 4gen Sabrent 1T

Nvme 4gen XPG Gammix s50 1T

I also have TrIdent Z RGB 4 modules 8Gb each DDR4 at 3600 mhz, Always used them at 3000 or 3200 mhz.

No windows error, the CPU was a 2nd hand purchase and it had some residue of thermal paste in the pins. The technician removed all this residue by cleaning the CPU.

When I first got it, we cleaned it properly, but it was still looking a litle different from the other pins. I did not give much importance as my PC was up and running. It worked more than 5 months greatly like this, until April when I started getting random crashes etc.. Then all these crashes became more frequent until I was unable to do any work load on the PC.

Thanksfully it is now resolved and we can rule out any windows inconvenience as it was a hardware related issue.

EDIT: It worked fine for one week, then same issue happened, I really don't know what to do, going back to windows 10.

I got a new update for the Game Forza Horizon 5, on July 7, 2022 and got the error. Then, the following day, same errors and same behaviors with my PC.

And when I try to restart the PC, it restarts and then I get the screen unresponsive. I cannot get to the safe mode either as everytime it restarts, it does the same. I'm forced to shut down and turn on again and it goes to windows normally.

If I open an application like a game or something demanding, it crashes and restarts, sometimes with that same blue screen.

I need help, can someone look into this???? Please and thanks.

Same problem here, right after update forza horizon 5 to the actual season i was unable to play the game anymore, was around the same time that you have posted the issue, don't know if it is a windows update problem or what, here is my history:

    Asus Z490 G Gaming WiFi

    10850k with Waterblock

Asus Dual RTX 3070 LHR with Waterblock

    4x 8gb Trident Z Neo 3600mhz

2tb Corsair MP600 (This is for Windows, programs and games)

512gb Samsung 970 Evo Plus (to temporally store my videos while editing and my VS Code projects)

    Seagate 4TB HDD (storage)

    SF750 80 plus platinum

    9x Lian li 120mm fans

    Case Lian Li Dynamic Mini

    2x 360mm full copper radiators

    Windows 11 Pro

    A few notes:

Temps never ever go above 70C on the CPU and never got above 60 on GPU

CPU is on 5.0ghz all core and the memory i'm using 3200mhz to get better timings

GPU is +100 on core and +1000 on memory

all this config is running butter smooth for about a year (when i purchased all the parts brand new)!

Any game is giving me the same behaviour, the most demanding like FH5 and Shadow of The Tomb Raider do that right a few seconds after start the game if i got lucky to even start and some others like Genshin or Rayman take a few minutes to get the problem.

    I've tried memory test (for about 3 hours and not a single error);

Tried prime 95 blend test (for about an entire night and after 8 hours it was still running with the CPU at 69 degrees)

Furmark, Cinebench, Heavens, Superposition, Aida stress tests and 3D Mark works perfectly with not a single error

My PC start by freezing the screen or get black after the game freeze, a few seconds later the RGB freezes and the PC do a hard reboot, sometimes with a 0xc0000021c or with a critical process died error but 80% without any BSOD or error on the screen, just reboot.

Bios on the motherboard updated to the very last version available, Nvidia drivers updated the second it get released, all the drivers updated, windows all updated, all the games updated on Steam, Epic and MS Store.

    Here's what i've tried

    - First i though it was something to do with Nvidia drivers, so i used a tool to remove it and did a fresh install.

    - Tried to disable G-Sync.

    - Tried to use another audio output and not using Dolby Atmos from the GPU to the TV connected to a Soundbar via eARC.

    - Tried with the Windows built in antivirus off (i only use that).

    - Then i've disassembled the GPU to see if it had dirt or something on the PCI slot, there wasn't.

    - Then i've removed all the overclocks even from the memory that was already running below the spec (tried memory at 2166) and unchecked the Asus ai overclock.

    - Disassembled the entire GPU block (a freaking pain to drain all the loop, repaste and so on), not a single physical problem or bad thermal pad/paste (it was working fine for about a year just like that).

    - Then i've cleaned the PSU and the plugs as well as the RAM slots and the memory itself.

    - Tried old GPU drivers (that i still have and used for weeks without a problem in the past).

    - Tried those kind of sfc scan and so on that all MS foruns post says.

    - I already have windows auto update drivers disabled (because i had problems on the past with windows 10)

    - Tried boot without signature driver (odd because all the drivers are from the official pages).

    - Tried a different HDMI port and cable.

    - Tried old drivers from the motherboard.

    - Tried to underclock the GPU core and memory.

    - After all that i've tried Prime95 and Furmark at the same time to stress the PSU and no problem, opened the game after close those stress tests and right on the map loading screen got hard reboot.

    - Tried the games on low settings.

    - Tried run the games like administrator.

    - Disabled full screen optimizations.

    - Tried the on windowed screen.

Every step i done i tested it again and didn't solved the problem...

After that i though it was a windows problem, so i did a clean install and right after i got all the updates and drivers installed i didn't installed a single program, just went back to the MS Store and downloaded Forza Horizon 5 to make sure it was not a compatibility issue with another program and the very same problem happened again.

Really don't freaking know what to do now, i'm basicaly paying for that Xbox Ultimate and not using it plus all the other games that i have or bought to test and not a single one was free of this problem, even Rayman Origins that can run on a potato with 4k 60fps give me those crashes.

The only thing i didn't have tried was fall back to windows 10, especially now that i've downloaded and installed again almost 1.2TB of games, programs and updates.
