Somewhere around this month of July, my network driver suddenly stop working.

I have tried to uninstall the driver and reinstall it from the Asus website. Didn't work.

I have used the MyAsus app to download the driver and do the same thing. Didn't work.

I have tried to update windows along with the optional ones. Didn't work.

Now the network driver won't even show up in the device manager. I am now considering to reset this laptop maybe it will fix it but for now I am using USB Tethering on my old phone.

    Hi SorB_.

    I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager";
    2. Click on the "View" menu and select "Show hidden devices";
    3. Expand "Network adapters";
    4. If the Wi-Fi adapter is listed, right-click and select "Properties". Check if there is an error in "Device Status".

    Do you remember if the problem occurred when moving the equipment?

    Maybe the WiFi card is not properly seated on the motherboard. So moving the equipment or a vibration on the table where it is placed can cause this behavior.

    Have you tried installing the driver using the installer provided on the support page of the Asus website?

    I noticed that the WiFi on this computer can be from MediaTek or Intel. So install both drivers and see if the adapter will work.
    Download the drivers installer from the links below.
    MediaTek: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/GamingNB/Ima...
    Intel: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/GamingNB/Ima...

    This is what I tried before and it doesn't work.

    The weird thing is, on certain occasions the laptop have connection from 5 mins to almost 2 hours. After that, the network driver goes off.

    Sometimes it says error Code 10 "The device cannot start" and sometimes it says error Code 45 Hardware is not connected to the device. I hope nothing internal is broken.

    I would think this one but the problem is that both my friend and I have this issue and both of us have the same laptop even bought it together at the same store. The odds of both of us using the same laptop and having the same problem is very rare.

    It really is strange behavior.

    Reset the network settings as instructed below and see if there is any improvement.

    1. Press "Windows + I" and select "Network & Internet > Advanced network settings";
    2. Select "Network Reset";
    3. Select "Reset Now", and at the confirmation screen, select "Yes";

    Note: The PC will need to be restarted.

    1. Now open Start and type cmd;
    2. Right-click on "Command Prompt" in the result list and select "Run as administrator";
    3. At the Command Prompt, type the following commands one at a time and press Enter:

    netsh int ip reset

    netsh winsock reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

    1. Restart your PC.
